We are primates, and so are gorillas--they are among our closest cousins. Like us, they form strong family groups. A gorilla troop includes a dominant adult male--the silverback, mothers, brothers, sisters, aunts and cousins. Just as your older brother or sister helps teach you about the world, older gorillas teach younger ones how to act and behave. Young gorillas are playful. They play tag, climb trees and enjoy just running around. But a young gorilla also learns the rules of his or her family by playing such games.
