Hi! My name is Omari. Let me introduce you to my world and its wonderful animals.

I live in the Congo River Basin of Africa, as my ancestors have for thousands of years. We depend on the rainforest for everything, but our world is changing quickly. To help us protect the rainforest we work with African scientists and also with scientists from the United States. They are helping us preserve the rainforest for everyone--the people and the animals.

In other parts of the world, people go to a zoo to see gorillas. Here in the Congo, they live nearby. First, click My World. I will show you the different countries that make up the Congo. Then--with the Field Guide--I will introduce you to the amazing animals of my home so you can learn how to identify them.
