today announced the launch of three e-learning courses on www.bigchalk.com.
bigchalk™ will feature three highly interactive courses on
their Web site, which are the products of collaboration between
bigchalk, IsoDynamic, Colonial Williamsburg, Smithsonian Folkways,
the Bronx Zoo, and the Lightbeam Group.
"These courses were
really developed from the ground up to leverage interactive technology"

content and educational experts from these three premier institutions

The three interactive courses
are the culmination of more than a year's work, and feature games,
simulations, role play, testing, digital video, audio, animation,
photography, and graphics. "A Day in the Life" is a translation
of Colonial Williamsburg's exciting eight part video series that
explores the lives of seven individuals during a typical day in
18th century Virginia. "Sounds of History" features over
140 recordings from the Smithsonian Folkways catalog in an interactive
game that requires students to classify "sound bytes"
according to historical era and social context. "Congo Gorilla
Forest" from the Bronx Zoo allows children to explore the African
Congo River basin from the perspectives of a local village boy,
an anthropologist ,and a Gorilla.
